Got a bunch of these due to a request from my mother-in-law (she needed some for her Church bizarre). The great thing about them is you can make a cross dependent upon your skill level! I started very basic (cold shunts when I tried to narrow the top to a loop) and eventually got to the point that there were no shunts, the crosses were consistent and I was pleased. The great part- everyone who got them as a gift was ecstatic with them! I heat, use a hardy cut to splay and taper the top. I have also worked on making some smaller bird sculptures. Following making a bunch of these, I actually had the skills to do a blacksmith knife as well! You can see the progression in the pictures below. Great skill building project!
